Vivian Tipton, Executive Director

Vivian Tipton joins HOF following a 25-year career with Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital (SNMH), most recently as the Mission Integration Director. Ms. Tipton is a certified black belt in Lean Six Sigma, a well-known reengineering and process improvement technique. The last six years of her SNMH career were spent working with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient flow and satisfaction, with an emphasis on staying connected to the corporate purpose and mission. Dr. Rene’ Kronland MD, FAAFP, FAAHPM, Medical Director

Dr. Kronland has lived in Nevada County since 1999, having relocated from Phoenix, AZ. She is board certified in both Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She specializes in chronic disease and chronic pain management. She serves on the Cancer committee at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and is involved in efforts to further the development of more palliative care and end-of-life services in our county. Denyse Ashlock, RN, CHPN, Director of Patient Care Services

Denyse has been a nurse for close to 30 years in California’s Central Valley, with 15 years of long-term care management experience. She began her hospice experience in 2004 as an RN Case Manager working in the field. Within a few years, Denyse was promoted into a management position overseeing the Facility Team, along with opportunities to manage the Intake Department, a home team, and an interim DPCS position until joining Hospice of the Foothills in her new role as Director of Patient Care Services. Denyse has a passion for patient care and is intimate with what hospice means to the community in which it resides. Her background makes her well qualified for regulatory compliance with Long-Term Care and Residential Care for the Elderly Facilities. She is an experienced leader who understands the interpersonal skills, clinical competency requirements, and overall qualifications needed to be an effective nurse at a hospice. Denyse is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse who participated in Stanislaus Elderly Abuse Prevention Alliance (SEAPA) and California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF) groups and serves on the Residential Care for the Elderly Facilities task force for CHAPCA. Mai Lee, Director of Fund Development and Marketing

Mai Lee is a highly motivated and focused nonprofit professional with over 15 years’ experience nonprofit management, fund development and marketing experience. Among many other senior development positions, she served as an executive for HYPE Los Angeles, The Midnight Mission, and Ananda Worldwide.  

 She has consulted with multiple technology companies on apps and technology for the nonprofit industry. She is a former board member of FBI Los Angeles Citizens Academy, Operation Progress, and LA Central City Association. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sharing Nature Worldwide and Janaka Foundation.  She is a passionate volunteer for the Crystal Hermitage Gardens the annual tulip gardens at Ananda Village. James Delcour, Director of Finance

James served in the United States Navy onboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington for 5 years in the 1990’s.  After being honorably discharged, he attended Oklahoma Christian University graduating with a degree in accounting.  He has worked as an auditor in Anchorage, Alaska for a Big 5 accounting firm and spent 9 years in Virginia Beach, Virginia working as an internal auditor for a large international non-profit humanitarian organization.  He moved to the area in 2017 and quickly became involved in the community by volunteering with various local organizations.  Email 530.274.5163


Heidi Wingo, MBA, Director of Human Resources and Retail Operations

A western Nevada County resident since 2003, Heidi Wingo comes to Hospice of the Foothills with many years of business operations experience. While business administration has been a large part of the work she has done throughout her career, working with and supporting other humans is her passion. Heidi holds a bachelor’s degree in English as well as Anthropology, along with an MBA. Prior to Hospice of the Foothills, she spent 14 years in Healthcare Education.

Heidi is very involved in our community, through her children and many other activities. Her goal is to support the HOF team any way she can, to make them feel as loved as they make their patients, families, and retail customers feel. Email 530-274-5159
