New Permanent Leadership at Hospice of the Foothills
Frank Santos, president of Hospice of the Foothills Board of Directors, announced that the Board appointed Carolynn Peterson , RN, MSN, AOCN, CHPCA to serve as the Executive Director. The appointment is effective February 1st.
“Carolynn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. Both the staff and board have benefitted greatly during her interim leadership. We are very excited to make her appointment permanent.” said Santos.
Peterson, former Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of Community Hospice, Modesto, CA, and a registered nurse, has over two decades of being a hospice leader. She is the current president of the California Hospice and Palliative Care Association and serves on numerous advisory panels and medical boards.
Santos added that a number of positive changes have already been implemented under Peterson’s leadership, “Hospice of the Foothill’s programs and services are critical in meeting the end-of-life health needs of the area’s residents. Carolynn has the leadership skills and vision necessary to carry out the organization’s mission. In her short time with the organization Carolynn has implemented a variety of measures that will not only ensure Hospice of the Foothills’ long-term sustainability but also enhance the quality of service received by our patients and families.”
Peterson, when asked about her appointment said her focus will be the organization’s fiscal health, employee engagement, and maintaining Hospice of the Foothills’ excellent reputation in meeting the end-of-life health needs of the area’s residents. She added, “Hospice of the Foothills has come a long way since its humble beginnings 35 years ago as an all volunteer organization. Since that time we have grown to become not only a jewel in the community but also in the state. My predecessors have done a great job in building Hospice of the Foothills’ role as a vital part of our community’s healthcare fabric. Our regions’ residents can take comfort in the knowledge that Hospice of the Foothills will be here to care for them or their loved ones should we be needed. I am proud and honored to be part of that legacy and I look forward to ensuring our services are available for many generations to come.”
